Harp Festival of Moons (November – The Dark Moon)
Venue: GPO Dublin
November Harp Fest of Moons Event was a surprise ‘flash mob’ of traditional Irish music in the GPO, Dublin.
In recent years, Tale of the Gael has earned a reputation for presentations that insert an historical theme, anecdote, or poetry into the repertoire. This gives the audience a context for a fuller appreciation of how, for generations, music in Ireland reflected and expressed events in our history both big and small: from rebellion, to unrequited love, to being stony broke…
The event is part of the Harp Festival of Moons, a yearlong festival of live harp recitals that will take place on every full moon in 2015. As a blue moon year with 13 full moons instead of 12, there will be 13 events in total. The locations for performances have been selected because of their association with the harp and/or Yeats’ work and life.
For Yeats2015 Harp Festival of Moons will host events every month. See the full year’s listing here.
