Quiet Moon: Monday January 5th 2015: No 5 Sandymount Avenue, Dublin.
Yeats included the moon and landscape in much of his literary work and his connection to the harp as both a national emblem and a symbol on our coinage inspired the idea of hosting a harp focused event on the full moon of every month of 2015.
As it is a blue moon year, with 13 full moons instead of 12 there will be 13 events in 2015. These events will take place in locations mentioned in the poet’s work or connected to his life.
The first Harp festival of Moons event will take place in 5, Sandymount Avenue, Dublin, the birthplace of WB Yeats at 5 pm on Monday, January 5th 2015. Hosted by the Royal Irish Academy of Music Dublin, recital by Balzar Collenberg. This event is programmed by Catherine Rhatigan and produced by Yeats2015.
For Yeats2015 The Harp Festival of Moons will host events every month. See the full year’s listing here.
