In a stunning blend of storytelling, poetry, conversation, and music, this gala event will explore W.B. Yeats’ relationship to Sligo, the “land of heart’s desire.”
Appearing in an onstage program from 2 to 3:30 pm will be flutist Kevin Crawford of Lúnasa, Yeats scholar Dr. James Pethica, actor Neil Bradley (portraying Yeats), Adam Farley of Irish America magazine, Sligo-style fiddler Tony DeMarco, and vocalist-lyricist Alisa Rose, interpreting Yeats with an original song composed for the occasion.
The event is a fundraiser to launch cultural roadmapp: Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way—which will be the first hands-free cultural audio tour app for motorists touring Ireland’s new 1500-mile coastal driving route. An event raffle will benefit Concern Worldwide, an Irish charity committed to eradicating extreme poverty.
