The Abbey Theatre Backstage Tours
The Abbey Theatre Backstage Tours is offering an insight into the behind-the-scenes work of Ireland’s national theatre. The theatre, co-founded by WB Yeats, will give visitors the opportunity to engage with the aspects and challenges of a new production. As part of the tour participants can enjoy an introduction into the historic art collection, have drink at the Yeats Lounge and walk the same inspiring corridors as its founders: William Butler Yeats, Lady Gregory and Edward Martyn.
Tours are scheduled to match the running dates of Abbey stage plays and will last a little more than an hour. They will start at the Abbey Theatre foyer at 4 pm Wednesday to Friday and 11.30 am on Saturdays (subject to backstage access). Backstage tours are not scheduled during previews or technical periods.
Access: The tour crosses four levels of the Abbey and involves some stairs. Please specify if mobility is an issue when booking, as the Abbey will accommodate those with reduced mobility.
Price: €8 per person / €6 per person for groups of 6 – 12 people
