The Reform of the Theatre: Yeats, Craig, Hevesi, Stanislavsky

This one-day Symposium commemorates the 150th anniversary of the birth of W.B. Yeats by examining his ideas for the reform of the theatre in relation to developments in theatre in London, Budapest and Moscow in the early 20th century. The keynote address on Yeats and Chekhov will be delivered by Professor Anthony Roche of the School of English, Drama and Film, University College Dublin. The Symposium will be accompanied by the launch of Professor Roche’s book, ‘The Irish Dramatic Revival, 1899-1939’ (Bloomsbury)
