Yeats Commemoration 2015 @ Magdalene College Cambridge

The Embassy of Ireland and Magdalene College, Cambridge, are pleased to announce a day of talks, readings and discussions commemorating the work of celebrated Irish poet W B Yeats. Taking place at Magdalene College, Cambridge, on Monday 23rd November 2015, this programme draws together renowned academics and poets in a celebration of his work.

Speakers include: Dr Rowan Williams, Dr Peter McDonald, Professor Angela Leighton, Professor David Moody, Dr Chris Morash, Professor Patricia Coughlan, Professor Edna Longley, Professor Fran Brearton, Professor Michael O’Neill, Professor Terrence Brown, and Professor Roy Foster.

The day will conclude with the performance of two plays by Yeats: On Baile’s Stand and The Death of Cuchulain performed by The Marlowe Society and The Magdalene Drama Society.

This event is free and includes a buffet lunch, drinks reception and buffet supper; however places must be booked in advance.

Please note that there are a limited number of spaces available for each session, and given the likely demand for places early booking is recommended.
